Karen A. Zappitelli, et al. v. Corrections Corporation of America, et al.: Cooper & Elliott represents the victim of a prison escape in which the prisoner escaped from inattentive guards employed by a privately-run prison, fled to Columbus, and held our client hostage for hours with SWAT officers surrounding her place of business.
Zimmer Durom Cup litigation: We represent a number of individuals who received the defective Durom Cup manufactured by Zimmer. The Durom Cup, a hip replacement device, has been withdrawn from the market as a result of its high rate of failure.
Owens Community College Litigation: Cooper & Elliott has filed suit on behalf of more than 100 nursing students against a community college that mislead the students into believing they were attending an accredited nursing program.
TransUnion Target Marketing Litigation: We represent individuals pursuing post-settlement claims arising out of TransUnion’s improper use of personal information.
Skye Ventures v. Republic of Venezuela: Cooper & Elliott represents an investor group in this action to recover more than $100 million in bonds guaranteed by the government of Venezuela.
