Below is a sample of the types of cases we’re currently litigating or investigating:

Estate of Lamont Paul Dion Lane v. Lin, MD: Medical malpractice claim against an OBGYN and a hospital for failure to identify fetal distress and failure to timely deliver a baby.
Ron Golden v. Franklin County Sheriff, et al.: Cooper & Elliott is seeking justice for Mr. Golden, who suffered devastating injuries after medical providers at the Franklin County jail refused to provide him with necessary anti-seizure medication.
Mervin and Barbara Muller v. Whitmeyer: Cooper & Elliott represents the Mullers, victims of a head-on car accident that caused significant injuries. As is frequently the case, this lawsuit is heading for trial because the wrongdoer’s insurance company refuses to pay fair compensation for the injuries.
Shannon Sickles, et al. v. Jackson County Highway Department, et al.: Cooper & Elliott represents the victim of an automobile crash which resulted in a traumatic brain injury and numerous facial fractures.
Kyle Wilke v. Village Communities, et al.: In this case, scheduled for trial in August 2011, Cooper & Elliott represents a homeowner against companies that engaged in sloppy, substandard practices when building his home. The careless contractors left gaps between floor boards, installed subflooring that was not level, and created additional damage when asked to fix the original problems.
Zimmer Durom Cup litigation: We represent a number of individuals who received the defective Durom Cup manufactured by Zimmer. The Durom Cup, a hip replacement device, has been withdrawn from the market as a result of its high rate of failure.
Owens Community College Litigation: Cooper & Elliott has filed suit on behalf of more than 100 nursing students against a community college that mislead the students into believing they were attending an accredited nursing program.
TransUnion Target Marketing Litigation: We represent individuals pursuing post-settlement claims arising out of TransUnion’s improper use of personal information.
Skye Ventures v. Republic of Venezuela: Cooper & Elliott represents an investor group in this action to recover more than $100 million in bonds guaranteed by the government of Venezuela.
Tattletale Portable Alarm Systems v. Calfee Halter: Cooper & Elliott represents a local business that forfeited valuable patent rights when a law firm failed to pay minimal fees necessary to protect the patent.
